I don't know if MGS3 is GotY or not but what I've played so far has really amused me. The fact that the game lets me spend a remarkable amount of time crawling around in the grass, stabbing frogs to death, and then eating them helped clear away all the bad memories of MGS2.

My GOTY is Katamari Damacy. I haven't played MGS3 though (haven't played MGS2 either, so...)
I'm currently enjoying "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay", and I tell you, this game really deserves the great reviews it got. Impressive immersion, combat system, ambiance, voice acting, really a great game!
