What a nice surprise: I've just tried this game, and it is as addictive as Bomberman was at the time. great way to move, it is like flying. After 10 minutes it becomes a second nature. I wonder if the lifespan of the game is on par with the fun, though.

You know, I think it's cool what Nintedo's done with Donkey Kong since the whole Rare fiasco. Instead of throwing him in more platformers (the last few of which were crappy anyway) they take him and put him in a bunch of unique concepts. Donkey Konga is fun (though not the best uh...pachinko game there is...is that the right term?). Makes me glad Rare doesn't have him anymore, because if they did we'd have had about five more ho hum DK platformers by now.
Again, I liked DKC1, but everything that came after that from Rare didn't have the same kind of magic.

All I can say is Donkey Kong:Jungle Beat is probably the best 2D platformer in years .Sadly it's a bit on the easy side but getting platinum on all levels will take me a while it's more a score game + it is quite psychedelic + It doesn't feature any of the Rare abominations

Ah, at least someone who have played Jungle beat...Can I ask you some question?? - what is the game exactly? - can you play it with out bongos?? - did it worth to buy the bongos for one game? - sometimes it seems to have VS stuff, is it a 2P mode??
thanks!

It's a platform game controlled with the bongo's you can play it without them but i don't like the control setup they've chosen for that.dunno if you can change the controls there are like sixteen levels or so to unlock all are fairly easy to play .but it is very fun to play them over and over (and there is a scoring element with collecting bananas which also count as lives. The versus parts are the boss fights I don't think there is any multiplayer. I haven't unlocked it atleast.Since the game is only 55$ with congos I say it's very much worth it.It's really a whole new perspective on platforming. And You can use the bongos with Yoot Saito's upcoming Odama. I do dislike Donkey Konga.it think it's boring but I've only played it very brief in a shop

I'm afraid Dixie is not in the game. If you check at gamefaqs, you'll get the list of unlockable charas.

This game reminds me of Bombjack somehow. I love it!
