Consumer (PS2/DC) port for Higurashi no naku koro ni by Alchemist
Sugeeeeeee--- If I hadn't forgotten anything, it's the first doujin game to go straight to the professional market. Man, suddenly my wild crazy dreams for the simutaneously running 3 different versions of an anime version of Higurashi doesn't seem that crazy anymore.

With all this commercialisation of Higurashi, the answer scenario looks really really really far away now...

Also, the official site for the Higurashi drama CD has released a sample track recently introducing the CD for the 3 part drama CD series.

I'm... getting close to solving the murders too. I think. Somebody help me.

Also kinda shocking
Malignant Variation on TV
Touhou on public TV kitaaaaaa---?

The popularity of this game never ceases to amaze me! A toy line will surely be coming next, and a Higurashi fighter plus tons and tons of new doujinshi.
Quickly get this game and sell it in eBay a few years down the line to get tons of cash. Maybe.

I finally got the first part of the game, but it's sooo hard.
Probably because I keep having to reach for the dictionary :p
What part are you stuck at, Zepy?

There's no part to be getting start at, you just go through all 4 chapters one after another then deduce the solutions after that. It's impossible to solve a chapter individually, there's information in the other chapters that you'll need.

Basically, I *think* I vaguely now know what happened with the serial murders, but I still can't solve the main murders in chapter 1 and chapter 3.

Also, I'm pretty sure I saw a higurashi doujin fighter already, but it looked like crap so I didn't remember it.

If I remember correctly, this is one of the games Zepy mentioned when Iggy asked for some example of good horror diginovels. I guess it's a kind of Agatha Christies meets Kanon, with three different stories detailing three different murder cases that share some links and give clue to understand the larger picture of the scenario. Yet the end that explains everything hasn't been revealed yet, and people are still trying to figure things out, and I guess that it got widely popular because the plot was of uncanny quality ?

It' still too shadowy for me to write a news post about it, though. Plus I have to find a new word to annoy you, after exfoliating and shmup.

Nope. I used exfoliating a lot a few weeks ago, but thinking about it again, it was more around the time when Simoniker was the one who had to suffer my posts before publication. He always found really neat and obscure adjectives to replace exfoliating (which I honestly have absolutely no idea what it means).

Yeah, it's a detective-type game, except it's good, and all the answers aren't out yet. The three scenarios are all alternate scenarios that happen over the same period, as in, like a diginovel with multiple paths, except it's pre-defined... yeah. Something like that.

Also mr. Brandon, did you get my email from eons ago?

But don't worry, you're safe from cooties. We all know that there aren't any REAL girls on the internet. That's ridiculous.

so many people to marry, such little time!

I guess polygamy is the only way.

polly - the difference between my marriage proposal and those others is that I'm actually ravishingly attractive. (incidentally I've been proposed to as well. but mostly by guys.)

iggy - next time I come I may not be able to entertain such both-gendered strippers. I might bring my own stripper with me. Also, do you think an english speaker could get a good job in france?

I thought Iggy said that "real" gay people aren't into flowery pretty boys.

But then, Iggy is hardly normal.

ZOMG SPOILERS

But I thought you had a decent job at Gamastuthingsmithy ?

Anyway, huh, it's hard to tell, really. Unemployment has always been quite high in France, mostly because various social advantages + nice life + low standards + national laziness turned it into long term small budget holidays. But you cannot get every advantage of unemployment, like our local welfare I guess, since you're a foreigner.

Then there's employment, which work a bit differently than in the States. Basically, there's nothing fair here. Much less than in the US, at least. It's really all connections. Sure, you can get a job the "normal" way, résumé and everything, but it's usually people hooking you up with people hooking you up with people, and somehow somewhere you get a job in the end. The outcome depends on knowing the right person for the right job avaiable at the right time. Because of all those variables, it's not that easy. I know, it's the case everywhere in the world, but let me stress that finding a satisfying job in France another way is usually really hard.

Now the issue for you is that what you are aiming at, I guess, is a low implication job that would allow you to pay the rent and have fun for a year without too much pressure and involvement, allowing you to go back to the US afterwards and leave the job where it's at. I estimate that to be quite tough to find, honestly. I can detail more and go deeper into issues and advantages of such a move, but first I need to know if this is a serious idea or if you were just pissing in the wind.

It's half pissing, half serious, and you've basically told me all I wanted to know already. I assumed it would be difficult, and the answer is yes, so there we are. Especially with the lack of french, I'd guess.

Probably for the best anyway, my job is good here. I just always want to leave a place (ie the place I live, not the place I work) when I've been there long enough.

I work for game developer magazine and gamasutra. Also a folk music club. And I have a top secret third job within the 'videogame industry'. I'm also associated with these jerks.

And there's insert credit, but that doesn't count, cause I've decided not to make any money on it for now.
