Both for videogames and toys.

Same player...
They will be the 2nd japanese entertainment maker after SegaSammy, if I read correctly.
I like the way "characters" are riches as important as "technology".

Either way, this should be done in autumn.

Eventually all Japanese game companies will merge. We'll all own one console, JAPAN, whose top ten games will all be first party software made by JAPAN.

Personally, I'd can't wait for SUPER JAPAN SHONEN ALL-STAR SMASH WARRIORS, the best fighting game in this millenium or any other.

Ah, so we should have seen this coming after One Year War. B...but wait...does that mean that there's a REASON why Namco X Capcom looks so suspiciously like SRW?

Man, this is weird.

Both of which will be eaten by EA like an after dinner mint.

Is there any word on how this new conglomeration Banco will operate? Will they merge into one giant company or will this just allow for easier cross-division work? Will Namco -or whatever Namco is going to become- now get into making crappy licensed games?

Cheeky buggers!

JoJo continually pulls off impossible stunts such as blocking bullets or stabbing a vampire's eyes out with his toes. Eventually after saving the world in a battle that involves a volcano a Nazi cyborg and a B-52 bomber Joseph marries Susie Q. and retires from adventuring.

Not yet, I suspect we'll hear more about it later though. Remember that this deal isn't even final yet, it's still pending shareholder approval - and the Namco/Sega thing fell through in this way some time ago. This sounds to me like it will go forward though.

I'm hopeful that it will be a squenix-like arrangement in which they don't really bother each other, but coordinate where helpful. And if someone were to make a really deep, meaningful anime licensed game, I wouldn't mind that.

YES. That's what I'm hoping for. Bandai owns the rights to everything after all.

I think...if anyone could eat EA it would be Bandai. Haha...

not really...if you look at their financial statements: http://www.namco.co.jp/an/finance/pdf/info/20050502-en-1.pdf
this really was a merger, not bandai eating anybody. They made about the same amount of money, with Namco actually making a bit more, if I recall.

That's nuts. Bandai owns EVERYTHING, though. They publish all the mediocre anime games that sell like nuts. I thought they'd beat Namco's profits on SRW or One Piece alone. My worldh as been turned upside down.
