"Q/Hugo team ownage at SBO" , posted Fri 6 May 13:12:
I still can't get over this, even days after I heard the result.
The most brilliant Q player ever captured on footage plus an apparently brilliant Hugo player formed a team called "Futari wa Free Character MAX HEART" and placed 4th, destroying one of the USA teams (the Q did it single-handedly) and nearly eliminating the 2nd place team along the way.
And they did it while cosplaying as Q and Cure Black.
I WANT THE DVD soooooo bad.
I also want to refine my Q to a competitive level, so that I can one day join forces with this now-legendary Q player Kuroda, creating the team "DQ": "DOUBLE Q"!... or "disqualified", since you aren't allowed to have the same characters.

I'm hoping the one dressed as Cure Black was female but I'm also willing to guess that I'm very, very, VERY wrong in my assumption.
Personally I've always wanted to improve as Elena (it used to be Makoto but a lot of people use her and Elena was the first character I played as ever in SFIII) and kick some ass. Seeing an Elena get far in a tournament would be almost as great as this Hugo/Q team. Almost.

Gah! It's rare enough that we see a good Q or Hugo alone, but to have one of each on the same team in cosplay with (I'm assuming) a 1-person handicap AND have them do well is just mind blowing.

Umekado on team "ABC", which tied for 3rd/4th in the first SBO 3rd Strike Tournament, is very good with Elena.

Same sentiment from me for Q, though. Alas for Q, for he is so great.

elena's animation is distractingly nice. goooood stuff.

I dunno, a girl who cosplays and plays a high level Hugo would be more than my little heart could take. But since this is Hugo we're talking about I'm suppose a bit of gender confusion is almost mandatory so, yeah, it's probably just your standard boring guy in a dress.
