Just to prevent the eventual flood.

On the Capcom boot, a special version of Gyakuten Saiban was shown, with the characters talking about the event.
Itonokogiri was talking about a big surprise around noon...

That interests me. A Lot.

BTW: I finished GS3 this week. Took me 4 hours straight to beat the last case but it was worth it.

Now i'm seriously considering buying a DS + Yomigaeru Gyakuten.

Wasn't it the BEST THING EVER!?!?
4 hours is pretty good, though. I read slow, so it took me more than that, I think. The last case is pretty darned long.

Hell, it sure was.
It thought of stopping and taking a rest in one of the save point but I just couldn't.

Specially after you start interrogating Ayame.

The world's least likely sequel, Seaman 2, is coming to the PS2. I guess this puts to rest any worries about Sammy forcing Sega to act responsibly when it comes to game creation.

The first one had Koyasu playing 01 sensei.
I really don't see how the sequel can surpass this.
I don't see any creepy characters in the new roster (not to mention the director of GS1) but maybe they are hidden...
It will all depend on the writting.

To be shown at the TGS and in the next Famitsu wave, Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition.

Interesting article about the DS and PSP
Average cost for developping a game on DS : 37 million yen. On PSP : 90 million (including the simple ports)

more pics of BH Deadly Silence

History of Nintendô : happy 116th anniversary.

Play-yan micro (for GB micro and NDS).

Yes, they figured out new ways to make Snake look ugly! I wonder how Solid Snake -I'm assuming that's him- lost his eye or maybe that's some sort of optical device he constantly has strapped to his head. Also, is that a little Metal Gear that Snake is having a smoke with in the bottom right pic?

Yup. A Metal Gear Mk II (remember "Snatcher").

Metal Gear Solid 4

Devil May Cry 4

Hinomoto Reiko ("Rumble Roses") will be playable in "Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence".
Also, there will be a limited edition of the game with a headset and a (two?) bonus DVD.

Yay, it's the old Dante with the wavy hair and the coin tricks from DMC2! Even better, his face looks horrible! Technically the TGS show doesn't start until Friday so there's still plenty of time for Capcom not to announce SF4.

Actually, DMC4 has just begun (5%). What we see is just tries for the facial expressions of Dante, he won't look like this in the game.
They are going to make it as close to the designs (the drawings) as possible.
But they don't know much about their game, yet. "we see a town, last time we saw snow... where is the game taking place ?" "we don't know. Maybe there will be snow in the final game. Maybe a town. Maybe both !"

Also, Vava, I think you covered it before, but to be sure : the director of Justice Gakuen is indeed behind DMC 2, 3 and 4, right ?

Raiden's probably going to be the 'main' focus of this game, but then again maybe we'll be able to use Meryl, or something...

Ah, thanks for the correction. While I was digging the "all ugly all the time" Dante I can understand why Capcom would want a Dante with slightly more refined features.

Man, TGS hasn't even started yet and already have Ugly Dante out breaking the hearts of closeted fanboys everywhere, an old [full codename to be determined later] Snake and his little robot buddy and the news that Reiko is going to go back in time in order to land CQC/Humiliation Moves on Soviet troops. Thanks for all the news folks and keep it coming.

So far, the Revolution controller seems really interesting and fun.

From my first glimpse of the controller, I was just about to post about the power button getting in the way and how it would cause accidental shutting off of the system.

Good thing though I just noticed, the button doesn't protrude out like the others.

If anything the "remote" seems like the DS to me. Rather than being touch based... it's just light based. The first thing that came to mind was Namco's mocap sword fighting game... this controller would be perfect for that.... and you just know Lucasarts is going to do something lightsabre based.

Exactly, I was like WTF?! But then I read closely on how it all worked, and I'm rather intrigued. I also noted in 1up's impressions that the extension port on the bottom can be used for OTHER controllers like dancemats and more controller "shells" which would probably explain how you'll play SNES and other old systems.

Given the fact that I have such a small gaming space for my consoles and the fact that this also plays DVDs this is definetely on the top of my list.

j/k.

Wait and see, no games yet... I mean, most people, when the DS was first shown, were like "IT'S A FREAKING PALM PILOT!!!" and now we have a really cool handheld gaming system with some really innovative games. This could bturn out to be really interesting, what do you know!

I am definitely not convinced yet, but I can't say I'm not curious about this.

When I read the part about the dance mat and "shell"... I started to think maybe a Powerglove 2.0.... am I wrong to think this?

http://www.capcom.co.jp/devil3_se/ For anyone who is interested, it just has Vergil accessible with his weapons that he uses. You can play from his point of view, access the demo digest scene where you can watch certain clips from the game. As for international mode, not really sure bout what its functions are.

The next Gôketsuji will have the transformation system back, for real, not like in Matrimelee.

I smell 3D.

The rumor of the Siren movie is not a rumor anymore.

I wonder how the blind writer and his dog will play.

APPARENTLY (not sure) the game doesn't stop anymore when you open the triangle menu. In the demo, the shibito wake up extremely fast.
It seems the difficulty levels made them create an even harder game. I love them.

Ôkami official site will open in october ? WTF ?
Also TGS movie.
And the game is now scheduled for spring. Errrrf.

If anything the "remote" seems like the DS to me. Rather than being touch based... it's just light based. The first thing that came to mind was Namco's mocap sword fighting game... this controller would be perfect for that.... and you just know Lucasarts is going to do something lightsabre based.

Except that the revolution's "telecomanette" doesn't just run over the flat surface of a screen,it has 3D sensors and so can indicate any point across the 3 spatial axes. Besides, the inclination level is also captured.

If anyone cares, a 10-minute trailer for Gensou Suikoden 5 is up at Gamespot.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/suikoden5/media.html

Overhead camera is back, 6-character battles are back, and the story actually seems to have some drama. Character design/ models/ animation seems like a compromise between the style of 3 and 4. Maybe I'll be able to wash my hands of Gensui 4 with this.

Maybe an interestng Sega age title : Panzer Dragon on PS2 is 30% complete. There is still some work to do, but it looks great, the game flows at 60 fps, and the model of the dragon is based on the one of Orta.

Hum.
Interesting.

Do any of these Sega age games make it out of Japan to US? I'm having trouble finding games like Phantasy Star Collection, VF2, Dragon Force...

Oh, I care about that. Thanks a lot.

It seems finally we old GenSui fans are gonna get what we´re expecting for... Suikoden series is back to the basics at last: a hero from noble birth who fights his own family (mother in this case) and leads a bunch of outcasts in a rebellion to put his homeland upside down. Teo MacDohl must be crying somewhere in heaven...

I hope all this won´t lead ANOTHER huge dissapoinment like Suikoden IV was

P.S.
Hi to the forum, by the way. I´m semi-new around here.

Everywhere I go, I hear "hopefully Suiko 5 will be better than 4". I'm glad. Very glad. The fact that 4 was disliked by so many shows that this world this has hope.

Pretty boring TGS this year, though. I was most excited about the new Guitar Freaks/Drummania for PS2...unless that was old new, in which case...well...I'd still be excited but the TGS would have been even more boring.

Welcome here !

I only like GSuikoden 3, so I don't care that much.

(crazy all those GS games : GenSui, Gyakuten Saiban, Girl's Side... it's becoming difficult to follow).

The TGS was perfect for me : I was only interested in Siren 2 and Ôkami, and both were brilliant according to those who played them. The little surprise was SvC Card Fighters DS, and beside that, no game that could swallow my money and time until the next good Kawazu game.
And it had fun, too : the terrible failure of Microsoft and the invisible Squenix boot.
Just what was needed, nothing more, nothing less.
Perfect.

Wow, that's nice to see GS5. I am very curious about the setting in relation to all the other stories. I guess I am one of the few that enjoyed GS4. Of course I would still like to see this series make a 2D rebirth for one of the portables or something. Oh I see that there is at least one returning character thus far Georg Prime
given that piece of information I take it the setting will be the Queendom of Falena. That would make sense cool

Edit~
Also looks like SARS updated the geography map to be more detailed then before. It is nice seeing the entire Suikoden "Known" World put into perspective

I was watching Cinematech on G4 today and I happened to see a MGS4 trailer (the one that said "Not FPS, MGS at TGS for PS3"). The FMV (because that's all I can call it right now) looks very beautiful, and personally, I'm getting hyped. Plus, Snake has got a Charles Bronson thing going on with that mustache. Now, all I need to do is play MS3 (the original or Subsistence).

Nope. In-game. Kojima played a demo that looked exactly the same.
