Actually, Densha Otoko was nice when it was just a nice little story in a thread ; it could or could not be true, it wasn't anybody's concern.
When it became used as a tool to say "see, even 2chanellers can be nice guys", it became borderline insulting to 2chanellers, and I understand their rage.
Also, it was nice as a little scale story on a BBS, but its popularity amongst ordinary people is totally out of proportion with its actual value.

I had no idea. I actually don't know a thing about the show. It's one of those things that I avoid simply because it's difficult to do so. Like after so many people recommend a movie to me, I can't stand it anymore, and I'll refuse to see the movie.
BUT! That aside, is what I said true?
