Subject as in, the original game?
The game spans a total of 8 chapters, with the first 4 being the murder cases, and the next 4 being the answers.
The different murder chapters are basically the different "branches" in the same scenario. That is "this murder would have happened under these circumstances". That is, each chapter takes place over the same timeline and the same characters, but a different murder happens each time. And all the murders are seemingly connected to a series of serial murders that happened over the past 5 years. So using the information gathered through each branch, the player is supposed to solve each murder presented and finally also solve the serial murder that has been happening over the past 5 years.
The game plays in a linear manner, that is, you cannot make any choices to affect the story, the only thing you can do is read it.
It brags about it's 1% chance of getting the answer right. That's about how hard it's supposed to be.
And the game's creepy too. I'm kind of a horror fan, but no other movie/game/book creeped me out like that game.
