Very sad indeed--one of the few television men who gave me ideals.

What's more sad is that I don't think there is any Asian-American actor/actress that commands the kind of respect or popularity he does.

He will be missed, and always remembered as Mr. Miyagi to us all. Rest in peace.

He was a haul ass actor, and it's sad to see him go. The first 3 Karate Kid movies were among my all time favorites.

RIP Mr. Miyagi.

I forgot what his character was from Happy Days... I only remember an episode where he married some woman from Japan named "Momo" and had called his burger a "Momoburger"

Other than that, I think I remember he played a gay waiter in another movie...

But with much respect, RIP Pat Morita, I wish I had met you in person...

Sad to see him go, I have to wonder about Kingdom Hearts II now because he was supposed to voice the Emperor (from Mulan) in that.

RIP

LOL!! It was about damn time...

Now, seriously, he was dead to me since so many years ago that I don't really give a damn about this news...and besides that, people's deaths don't affect me too much (I firmly believe it's not the end for us, just a new beginning).

Anyway, RIP Morita. At least you deserve that.

Wax on, wax off...

Who knew that buffing a car could get you good at MAs?

I remember that his character bought the restaraunt, but other than that, I don't remember much else. Also, B.R. is right about Asian-American actors/actresses. Not even Margaret Cho has the calibur he had. Well, what else needs to be said other than what hasn't been said already?

"You know how many letters in 'Takahashi?'"

He was a great man. Just a dynamite actor.

A note - I would certainly think Chow-Yun Fat (where do the hyphens go in his name?) has that level of respect Morita had. Probably also Lucy Liu, and even George Sulu, just for Trek. But there certainly hasn't been another Asian comedian of Morita's calibur.

Chow started as a star from HK. So, you couldn't add him here. Lucy would probably come close to Noriyuki-san in terms of overall quality.
