I'm nominating Cliffy B. for coming up with the best Revolution slam of 2005.

http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20051021/sheffield_01.shtml

Gamasutra: I like that arc on the grenade [in Gears Of War].

Cliffy B: My logic here is that we give you a cursor for your gun, why not give you an arc for your grenade? If you're a soldier, and you're going to have a good idea of the weight of the thing, and how far it's going to go, so why not just give you a visual indication of it?

Gamasutra: How would you do that with the Nintendo Revolution?

Cliffy B: Just throw the controller at the screen.

His nutjob crusade, I hope. Recently he seems to be redirecting his crazy kool-aid at the judicial system instead of video games.

I'm looking forward to Dickflop Chronicles- Nutjob Crusade 2: The Dragon Scrolls: Legacy of the Mummy's Revenge, myself.

If I somehow sound as if I'm trying to mock you, I'm not. I'm actually grateful for the news. I just can't fight the temptation to make fun of how American companies tend to make titles for things too long.

I nominate Tomonobu Itagaki

Sure he's doing the same shitck he does every year ("Tekken SUCKS!!! But despite thinking that I will make no effort to make DoA anything more then mediocre with nice graphics") but this year he did it and had a HUGE delay on his game.

It takes a real man to say your game is nothing without graphics, that you hate motion swaps while clearly having several in your game, and excluding robots from a fighting game because they don't look sexy in swimsuits playing volleyball THEN delay your game several months... a real MAN OF THE YEAR

Blanka and Dan make for a most excellent tag image (yeah still not funny)

I'd like to help foster 50 support by pointing out that besides being a videogame character he is also a Republican, and ardent Bush supporter.

Frankly, I've my fingers crossed that 50 wins Person of the Year, and Best Game Character of 2005.

You know, that was my question, right there.

Just pointing that out.

I nominate Hirobobu Sakaguchi for finally getting up and leaving his nothing-job in Square's Hawaii CG studio, starting a new company, dragging away half of his devoted followers at Square, and announcing three original games for Xbox 360 (of all systems). It took a lot of guts, and it might have murdered Final Fantasy XII. It was a very un-traditional, un-Japanese thing for him to do. It really impressed me. I'd call him man of the year even if we haven't yet seen the results of what he's doing, even if he never really WAS a great game producer, anyway.

I just like his gusto!

Vote for Poison girl!

Even though she wasn't embraced by the world like Nevada-tan, she's still is worthy enough to be 2005's person of the year!
