quote: CRAP! I'm really sorry. I mixed up Miike's name with Ryuhei Kitamura!! (of Versus fame. He did the work on Twin Snakes too) Really sorry for the confusion.
Now, that makes sense. I like Kitamura's films, but I wasn't too happy with his new action scenes for Twin Snakes. I mean, I like them, but that's not what Snake is supposed to be capable of doing, or at least, it's too extreme... but I know that's what Kitamura is about.
Anyways, if someone has to make a Metal Gear Solid based film, I'll be happy if it's him. By the way, did you know that Kojima appeared in Kitamura's Azumi film?

Yes!
I hated that god damned film though. It tries to have Battle Royale's attitude, when it's really just a movie about kid ninjas. There's the part where the teacher tells the ninja girl, kill the ninja boy now! And she has this totallY ATTITUDE look on her face and he's like, "Azumi!" and she just slices him and it's like WOOOOAH. I mean, this is at a point where the audience just doesn't give a FUCK about who any of these characters are, and it's already making us loathe them.
"Once Upon a Time in Mexico" also does pretty much the same thing. I just . . . don't like when movies do that.
Kitamura's "Godzilla: Final Wars" is much, much better -- though only because it's intentionally moronic.
You know, *I* have a cameo in that one -- as a giant, sexy monster.

But in that interview Kitamura doesnエt say heエs going to make a flick about MGS... he only states there could be a possibility, if one day Kojima and Konami decide to make a filmic adaptation of Snake & Co.
So itエs only a mere interbutt rumor, we donエt know anything for sure. For heavens sake, Iエve even heard that Uwe Boll was the one going to direct that supposed MGS movie! (and Iエd find that option most interesting, I dare to admit. In such case, I would be all for The Rock to play the role of Snake and his multiple clones, since Uwe+The Rock=ultimate destruction combo).
Anyway, it would make sense if Kitamura finally directed a Metal Gear movie, being Kojimaエs buddy and all. And I even think he could do a good job. But, then again, Uwe...
