Hello everyone ! I'm a long time lurker of the Café, and I finally decided to register and post!
Since Iggy has failed to manifest himself for a few weeks now, I thought I could try to make a "random news thread" just like he did. Tell me what you think about it.
Jojo : Fantom Blood. This summer, by Bandai.
If you remember Rule of Rose : the game has been released. The movies are gorgeous, the scenario and the ambiance are great, but the game part is tedious to say the least. The game is also very short, and the loadings are rather annoying. It does look very, very nice though.
The Last Blade compilation has also (finally) been released. The game is just an emulator with the two roms on it (apparently they began to create a port, then changed their mind about it, which resulted in the game being pushed back again and again). No extras from the NGCD, PS1 or DC versions beside the color edit and the BGM choice, and no move list in-game. There are some minor bugs (like the sound being a little distorded, or some lag in the imput of a few moves). Also, some things appear to be missing (like the "how to play" for example) Chances are the next compilations (like the KOF Orochi game) will be emulations as well. Which might mean "no extras at all", like non-playable boss staying non-playable, and you can even wonder if the oldest games will have some basic modes like training or versus modes. Wait&see.
Will Rumble Rose XX save the 360 ? release date the 03/30.
The PS2 remake of the first Pantzer Dragon is shaping nicely.
Katamari Damashii (the PS2 games and the PSP one) have sold over half a million units in Japan.
KOF Maximum Impact 2 in April.
Ôdama (the GC game "Pinball vs Samurai") release date : 13/04.
A new Valkyrie Profile Leneth movie on the official site.
The arcade port of Soulcalibur 3 should be released this spring. Some extra characters will be officially added (like Amy) and others won't (like Arthur).
Well, that's all for now I guess. I hope Iggy won't mind if I take his role during his long, long holidays.

| "PS2 Ken Samu report" , posted Tue 24 Jan 23:16
Listen, people, really, if you could stop talking about that Iggy thing, it would do me a lot of good. It was just a painful episode of my life, and it's finally over. Please let me return to my harmless, normal life.

Somehow, I can't help feeling like this is not the proper thread to use that kind of words.
Also, Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2 was about to be released by the end of February. Thank god, the release date has been pushed back to "unknown date". Fewww, that was close.
The first flying gets of PS2 Ken Samu have appeared. DL password : samusupi. There is between 5 and 10 seconds of loading depending on the PS2 model. You unlock new things by defeating the arcade mode (1 character finished = galery&survival mode, 3 characters = purple Nakoruru, 6 = Rasetsu Galford, 9 = Kim Wenchue, and so on). You have to clear all 52 characters to unlock everything. Magaô being a bitch, it won't be easy.
Kuroko apparently speaks quite a lot (as much as any normal character) (He appears as the semi final opponent of P.Nako). Galford is really close to the Kôrin version, only slightly better.
You can adjust the damage level. At max, a strong Ken spirit slash takes around half of the energy. Too bad you can't adjust the hit stop as well, but that alone makes the game much more SS-ish.
So far, beside the loadings, the port appears awesome.

| "PS2 Ken Samu spoilers & Kuroko move list" , posted Thu 26 Jan 21:27
Apparently, there are several ways to unlock the characters ; the animals are unlocked by finishing the game with their master(s) and only once you have cleared the game with 9 characters.
In survival, you fight the 40 default characters, then the animals, Kim, Rasetsu G., Kuroko twice, and finally Magaô. Beating Magaô unlock all these characters except Magaô, who isn't playable apparently.
The color edit allows to save 5 different colors for your character, and allows the separate edition of the eventual animals and of the weapon's color.
Finishing the game with all the animals allows to select the Animal Spirit for every character. The Ma spirit is unlocked by finishing the game with the 4 bosses, the Matsuri Spirit by finishing the game with 24 characters, and the unlimited matsuri spirit (like the groove edit in CvS2) can be unlocked later. Some features reserved to the Matsuri spirit are the super cancel point and the ability to move before the beginning of the round. Super cancel + Jû Spirit's SCS must be pretty wild...
The last secret left is about the EX characters.
As for Kuroko's move list :
Chôhatsu : ora ora ! (Ryô's) Moves : Kuroko Genocide Cutter, Kuroko (1) Yamibarai, Kuroko (2) Power wave, Kuroko (3) Kasane ate, Kuroko (4) Psycho ball, Kuroko (5) Cross Cutter, Kuroko (6) Kachôsen, Kuroko (7) Haôshôkôken, Kuroko (8) Power Geizer, Kuroko (0) Triple Geizer (can be made if you managed to hit with all the moves from 1 to 8, like Yoshitora). Kuroko leg tomahawk, Kuroko shinkûnage and its rasetsu follow up, the usual puppet transformation, Kuroko Orochinagi (can only be made once per battle), Kuroko MAX Orochinagi (with the same limitation as the triple geizer), Kuroko rambu jô (follow up : rambu ha, follow up : rambu kyû), Kuroko Yaotome, Kuroko Saika.
This is WILD.
