Damn good question. I've been wondering that myself. I assume you're talking about the Xbox version. All I know is how to unlike Poppy by holding Start and selecting Galford.

Of course I never take anything on those boards seriously. The average age on the gamefaqs boards has been 12 ever since I can remember. The most logical explanation seems to be a typo in the instruction manual. If SNK Playmore was to add those 3 characters from SS5 special why not just release SS5 special as it is?

You don't have Xbox live!? What's the point of having an Xbox if you can't play online fighters? That's one good thing Microsoft has going for it. They really picked up the ball that Sony of America fumbled.

Though it does kind of piss me off that we get Guilty Gear XX #R and no Samurai Showdown V Special. I guess Majesco and Sammy are more on top of their game than SNK Playmore USA.
