I want to install KOF'99 Evo on my PC, is there a Japanese-Windows emulator or something like that out there? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Ok.

No problem. I've been playing tons of japanese games in my computer (spanish).

You have 2 possibilities:

1) You may switch your language settings from English to Japanese: you can do it by accessing your region configuration in your Control Panel.
This usually causes several clashes with your installed software, and forces you to re-start your computer everytime you change this setting (for example, in my case, my anti-virus eventually crashes and I have font characters incompatibility). As you can see; this choice is rather troublesome.

2) This is the choice I recommend you: download APPLOCALE.
This is a very useful Microsoft utility which lets you launch a determined exe under certain language conditions. It's very easy and intuitive to use. You just choose the application, then choose the language (japanese is the bottom one, IIRC) and then launch the program. There is also an option that lets you create a shorcut in your desktop in order to directly launch the program under those special circumstances.

And now, enjoy your KOF!

I recommend against this option. It messed up quite a few of my programs that were already installed and most of them had to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

Yeah... sorry. Since I was at work when I posted that and I was a little short in time, I just copy&pasted the url of the first Microsoft link I found, even though I didn't look that it was in english.

I didn't access the page so the setting was in Thaiwanese, I think, sorry for that. But I think it helped you to get the idea.

Well, anyway, I hope you enjoy your j-games from now on! ^^

Pd: It's time for you to enter in the fantastic world of the japanese doujin games I think... hehehe Try to get Melty Blood!!!

I never really had problems with switching my Regional Settings to Japanese in XP. Setting unicode programs to Japanese when doing that can further increases the compatibility. The only problem I ever have with it is that some programs will default the text to Japanese, but the programs that do that will almost always have an option to set the language back to English or whatever you want.
