I just order from Amazon Japan. That's not really necessary if you want relatively "mainstream" stuff, though.

Hey! I used mainsteam in quotations to AVOID sounding elitist! I guess that backfired. So I should say "more widely available" instead? What I mean is that if you want something like Berserk or One Piece, you can get it anywhere.

In an unrelated note, if anyone who likes King Gainer happens to be reading this, you owe it to yourself to pick up the manga.

This, cant sound more elitist.
So you need to avoid sounding elitist, why?.

Amazon Japan is definitely your best bet. They have the best selection (unless you want some dojin stuff) and the best prices and they are reliable.

I've ordered from them at least 4 or 5 different times now and they've always delivered. It can take quite some time though if you go with the cheapest shipping options. Then again, my last order from them came suprisingly quickly (like 3 weeks or so).

Okay, let me try to be more elitist here.

If you're cool like me, you'll order your manga DIRECT from Japan, so that dirty Americans don't get their grubby fingers on it first. Because then, it's not even IMPORTED, it's just purchased from some stupid importER, so it's like you're not even getting the real product. That's like eating the crap of someone who ate a hamburger and saying you ate a hamburger.

But you probably can't even tell the difference between manga imported from Japan and manga imported from Japan, then sold to you. So...you know, just live in your inferior little world, because you're not good enough for mine.

To improve your elitist attitude learn how to import using amazon.co.jp here. I have been meaning to use this for a while for a couple Silent Hill items, but I procrastinated so long that they are not available anymore. Don't be like me, improve your elite status right now!

Thank you very much!

Too bad amazon.jp doesn't carry Yuri and Friends. ;(

As someone mentioned, Amazon Japan is definitively the best choice.

An extra recommendation: use their economy shipping service (they use DHL). It is way cheaper than express (EMS) at the expense of about an extra week of waiting. Considering that print items can be heavy and expensive to ship, you can save quite a bit.

While we're at it, what if I'm Spanish?

Does amazon.co.jp work well too? Is there some other site? I'm buying hagaren manga original, but the shop I bought it at has stopped after 10th volume, and it doesn't seem like the situation will change... :(

Well, that site I linked to says: "Complete the shipping address screen. Click "International Address" for outside Japan, and (wonders!) this bit of the form is in English." Not necessarily US only, so they may ship to you. At worst it won't work, you can always just try.
