This game most likely has nothng to do with the rest of the SNK universe, but I can't help but think that the final boss' silhouette reminds me of Jhun Hoon's stance:

Well, if you ask me, the original (mythological) Athena always seemed a bit lesbian to me... I've always suspected she had something with Artemis (so the proverbial virginity of both deities was only a rethorical thing).
I suppose some 2500 years later SNKP has jumped into a similar conclusion, but I swear I won't complaint a little bit about it!
