Some of these...actually, a LOT of them are a pretty big stretch.

Definitely. But some explanation (for the mysterious "Cross Changer !" at least) are welcome.

If Capcom ever went nuts and decided to give Guile a third move I always felt he should get a legit version of his magic throw. I'm not sure how it would work in-game but that glitch is too funny to be abandoned.

Is that the famous handcuff action? I freely admit to never really playing fighters before the SF Zero/Alpha series so I never knew the ins and outs of famous bugs like that, though I wouldn't mind seeing them.

edit: OH.

Back on the original topic, I got tired trying to figure out the most ridiculous "reference". But I will say that I never made a connection between Ryo and Patrick Swayze.

But is it the Dirty Dancing Swayze or the Road House Swayze? (Just as there are multiple storylines in SNK games I'm convinced there is more than one version of Patrick Swayze running around in the world.)

Anyway, after bablefishing that page I'm almost as confused as I was when it was still in Japanese. I know that there are plenty of homages -or flat-out stolen ideas- in fighting games but a lot of that listing seems more like a round of free association than anything. For instance, Grace Jones as a model for King? Really?

I always thought the only outright reference/homage in KOF was Benimaru and Polnareff/Smith Torren. Oh, and K999 of course.

Maybe it's To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar Patrick Swayze?

Yes, this one is the funniest.
But there are some good things - mostly, about the name of some moves (especially Heidern, even though they lack some) and everything about tokusatsu references I'm totally unaware of.

GENIOUS.

Now I cannot play with Ryo without thinking of even more homo-erotic situations.
