TONKO's art looked kinda strange in the newly announced Days of Memories, they probably should have stuck with Kagero(who did all the previous versions). I'd play it if it had endings for Geese and Krauser.
I thought it was kinda cool that the main plot in DOM2 was about orochi having come back as a female.

Is it me, or the first girl in the new game was the player character in the Girls' Side game of the series?... I recall seeing some shots, and I think she also had short orange hair...

The heroin of DOM "Girl's Side" was Asanaga Kaori (scroll down). Karen is a new original character.

Kaori is 主人公の友人, so no, she's the heroine's friend. Actual images of the heroine, however, can be seen towards the bottom of that same page.
