PS3 drops by $100 in US markets. My personal favorite quote from the article is:

When comparing your product to previous Sony Playstation products you don't have to aim too high. Still, they are doing better than Microsoft.

Warranty extenstion could cost MS $1 billion. It boggles my mind that companies have to throw around such absurdly high amounts of money just for something like internal fixes. Console wars aren't for the faint-hearted. But does MS expect to make a profit on the XBox at any point in the future?

I'm not sure what to make of the idea that console news makes it onto the top news section of cnn.com.

In more important news, pictures of the system-selling title Forever Blue have come out. Touch the dolphin! I want to play this game so badly.

While I don't really "get" 2D games that are drawn in 3D, especially given that the artisanal aspect of 2D will clash eventually in the future with the rendered stuff since it doesn't age as well as hand-drawn, I'm thrilled that people will finally get to see how utterly excellent a Dracula game Rondo is. I heard that the original version might be unlockable and not there from the outset, which is a shame. Then again, I heard that no one owns a PSP, which is also a shame.

Playing the PC engine Rondo of the Blood was great. For me the game was hard but it was an accomplished feeling beating the game then again i'm not a good Castlevania player. Hopefully I can blow the dust off the PSP after MGS and grab this game for sure.

From what I heard it's 'cheaper' to do it this way rather than try to hand-draw everything (also, you don't have to put up with crap like sprite flipping).

As long as they keep the '2D action' at least in spirit, they can put as many fancy pants 3D effects they want. Megaman X8 is what I would consider a pretty good example of this.

Looks like the price drop of the PS3 is not a permanent thing. The 60 gb version will be phased out and replaced by the $600 80 gb version. But there should be plenty of supply to last for several month.

I am just going to guess that these will be gone by Christmas and I don't plan on getting a PS3 until MGS4 comes out.

I won't be needing a PS3 for a long time, but if there's one game that might make me get one, it's LittleBigPlanet. It's the only game so far on PS3 I can honestly say looks fun, rather than looking overdone or flashy or cinematic.

Disgaea 3 being on PS3 really blows my mind. Isn't it using the same sprites as before? Why not put it on PS2, since you'd be able to play it on PS3 anyway. Even if you couldn't, I would say the chance of someone having a PS3 and being a Disgaea fan, but NOT having a PS2 is pretty slim, whereas the chance of a Disgaea fan not having a PS3 is extremely big.

I've been getting this feeling that Sony is now trying to get certain niche markets on their system by courting smaller developers like Aquaplus and Nippon1.

I may sound geeky with this, but, besides the impressive announcements of GG2:Overture and Sengoku Basara X, Famitsu has also presented the new princess in the Super Mario franchise:

Who will debut on the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy for Wii.

I guess this makes the fourth 'damsel in distress' Mario gets to rescue (Pauline, Peach and Daisy being the others, I hope I'm not forgetting anyone). The article quickly states that the main focus relays on Peach, however (in order not to anger the Andys, I presume).

Anyway, I'm glad of this addition, taking into account the little number of human females in this saga.

Interestingly, there's already hentai featuring her... god, those guys are fast...

Apart from the teaser shown at E3, there was a small interview with the producer of RE5 in Famitsu that revealed a few things.

The main character is indeed Chris, like many have speculated. He is part of a new orginization called BSAA, who dispatch him to a desert area (presumably in Africa, but that's just speculation) to investigate an epidemic. This epidemic is evidently neither Umbrella zombie nor ganados from RE4.

One of the new visual features of the game will be light adjustment. When Chris is in a dark area for an extended period and steps into bright light (or vice versa), his eyes will have to adjust for a few seconds, leaving him blind to whatever is in the immediate area.

Finally, there will be a female character in the game that "RE fans will recognize" who plays a sizable role. She will be seen briefly in the extended trailer available on XBL and PSN next month.

I would like to think so, however, the wheight of character of these proportions is still to be seen.

Sadly, she could get stuck on this issue and become as forgetable as, per say, Gombella in Super Mario RPG.

Hentai on Brawl isn't impossible to achieve since I saw particularly suggestive screenshots taken by some of my friends on Melée...
