You wanna add the Final Fight CD intro? If you're interested I can try to get the Japanese intro off of Nicovideo.

*edit*
Here's the English version

Something weird about this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBvMaQPQaX0

Am I correct in thinking the name of the artist is Alpha Lyra? Because I thought, "Hmm, that sounds familiar. Wikipedia time!" And that led me to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_Lyra

See where it redirects to! Go ahead! You will be amused!

...at least, I was. And that's all that matters.

Semi-related: Does anyone know the artist of the Japanese SF2T ad music? I've wanted that ever since I saw those on the purple VHS tape.

Humm...If I remember correctly, during the 90's, I think it was 1992 I was reading a Nintendo magazine that had an article about a Capcom team called Alpha Lyra, and they were the guys that orchestrated (then converted to midi) the music for most of their games.

Thanks for the star info, interesting.

Does anyone happen to have the SFA3 commercial for GBA? YouTube took it offline and I hadn't saved it yet.

I didn't know of this team, but I was amused because the link I used redirects to the page for "Vega" which we all know is the US name for claw guy and... oh, never mind...

Interesting info on the proper page though! Thanks for that!

Vasili10 told me that the Complete File calls Vega (the dictator in the Japanese version) a fallen eagle, so he is related to the star or the meaning of the star. In SFIIV you can see an eagle's head as his symbol, might be some illuminatish thing.

I'm adding more commercials, done some today and will do more within the next days.
I also take Rival Schools, Cyberbots, Vampire/Darkstalkers and all other fighting games by Capcom or games that feature characters of the SF universe in the ad.

Lots of meanings here! I was just amused because claw was in the ad, but I didn't realize that there was a dictator connection too. Neat stuff!

Your ad list is a great resource, but I always worry that YouTube will wreck stuff by deleting everything. I think I'm gonna start backing up some of these on one of my external drives. Out of curiosity, do you have better source versions of a lot of these? I can't contribute much in the way of video, but I'd be glad to help ensure that these don't disappear.

I found that on NicoVideo.

They also have a history of Street Fighter video set there I am downloading right now, there are some 10 parts. I'll try subtitle and upload that to youtube if I get the chance. If not, I'll just upload it.

There is one part on youtube, but I can't seem to find anymore.

I'm going to subtitle the Final Fight CD Japanese scenes and put those up for another site. I was surprised to see/hear that Cody is played by Guts voice actor from Berserk. Haggar sounded familiar as well, but I can't figure out who he is exactly. The Japanese Final Fight CD ending appears to actually have an extra scene.

What is the extra scene, Guy beats the crap out of that wimp Cody and takes Jessica for himself like the manly Bushin ninja that he is?

English FF CD ending

Cody and Guy say something to eachother by the broken window before walking past Belger's 4 rooftop swimming pools. In the English version you can see they cut from Haggar and Jessica talking to each other to Cody and Guy walking away.

I just had a EUREKA moment cos of your post! M. Bison, aka Vega is based off of the Stars of Nanto from Hokuto No Ken!

Bear with me.

Vega is the 5th brightest star in the sky and also part of a constellation; there are 6 Stars of Nanto which together form a constellation.

Vega is a "fallen Eagle," while each Nanto practioner is also assigned a bird (ie Shin: The Lone Eagle Fist, Rei: The Waterfowl Fist, Souther: The Phoenix Fist).

Vega's fighting style is largely based off of Nanto Suicho Ken with his open palm slashes and jabs (with glowing extended fingers) and emphasis on speed and ariel attacks. Just look at his SF2 animations, they're very HnK. The Psycho crusher seems like some sort of secret ultimate Nanto attack (complete with glowing chi aura), and his head stomp/upsidedown palm strike is similar to the ariel attacks Rei used on Yuda and Raoh.

Vega wears HnK style shoulder pads and boots.

Also "The name Vega derives from the Arabic word for Swooping Eagle or Vulture." Again, a bird connection and also something that describes his personality and move set.

It makes sense. While everyone else employed a real life martial arts style, Vega was using the supernatural Nanto Suicho Ken, hence he is the last boss. I remember fighting him for the first time on my older brother's SNES and just FEELING that he was in a different league than all the other fighters.

This is why I love the Street Fighter cast so much. I'm still noticing new things about them decades later.

Thanks a lot for the links.

Nobinobita, to me it was the other way round. I just recently bought the DVD collection of HNK and realized the same thing. Thanks for your additional thoughts, I'll add them some day to my Rip Off section.

I found the "Yomigaeru Fujiwara Kyou" animated video on Nicovideo and I will translate and upload it in 6-8 min segments.

In case you don't know, it uses the same character designs as the SFII animated movie, but its purely educational in content. Not a single fight scene.

If you are interested I uploaded the Japanese ending of Final Fight CD

Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li are invited by E. Honda to see his new special move, but are all transported back to Fujiwara, the ancient capital of Japan. Ken finds Ryu and gives him a crash course on history and time travel and set off to find Chun-Li and Honda while giving random tidbits about the city.

Part 2

Like aerialgroove said, In Japan this came with a manga called Ryu Vs.(UDON is SLOWLY translating it right now). I don't know where it originally aired though.

Thanks for uploading this strange SF curiosity. Although I'm not surprised that a story that features the SF characters travelling through time and listening to Ken give info dumps on the local scene didn't go anywhere I am amazed that this odd idea actually made it so far as to be animated.

Yeah, it would have been nice if Ryu got into a couple of fights like how Russell Crowe fought people at different places on that South Park episode.
