On one hand, I hate EA and their quest for a monopoly on gaming entertainment, on the other I think this is another fine example of the need for tort reform as I think it is absurd gamers can sue a company just because they are not getting a competing product.

At first I was excited, then I read it was about football. Whatever. Sports fans.

Fuck Electronic Arts.
I hate EA as much as the next hardcore gamer, but I don't see this going anywhere. Given, I'd LOVE for it to actually accompish something...I just don't think it will.

I hope they get sued. Hopefully this would free license exclusivity for other games to use like Temco Bowl and Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
...Not that I care about American "Football" anyways.

This has zero chance of working. EA isn't stopping the release of other football games, just NFL games. Not to mention I consider the lack of a competing NFL game to be a pretty trite law suit in even the best of circumstances.
I'm all for trying to bring EA down, but lets do it for the right reasons. The shitty work conditions they have and the way they chew up workers. If it's just to get rid of crappy games were better of just not buying them,

I agree, this is a misguided lawsuit. They might as well sue Reebok for being the official shoe supplier of the NFL. Is there some sort of secondary motivation behind this lawsuit or do they actually think they are going to make any headway against everything that EA and the NFL can throw at them?

I think they should sue every player who bought a licensed EA game, because that's because of them EA kept doing them.
