Japanese gaming site Famitsu.com has released details on new elements to be featured in GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR-, slated for PS4/PS3 release in Japan on March 26.
The storyline for GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- takes place right after the previous iteration. The PS4/3 port features an Episode mode where players can enjoy the same scenario as the arcades, and a Story mode which picks up the plot from there. We're naturally assuming that it'll be similar to the previous game's story mode that had hours of cinematics.
GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- will once again feature a very in-depth tutorial for beginniners, but this time it's reportedly going to be more refined and more fun, a key element missing in many fighting game tutorials which tend to just overload new players with a pile of information.
In terms of online, the game will once again feature cross-platform matchups between the PS4 and PS3. There's also going to be an additional "surprising feature", but no hints are given at this time.
As reported previously, the new character Kum will be available as a free download for early purchasers of the game.
The normal edition will be priced at 6800 yen while the limited edition will be slightly more expensive at 9800 yen. The limited edition comes bundled with an art book named GUILTY GEAR Xrd Visual Book and also a soundtrack named GUILTY GEAR Sound LIVE 2014 Archives, which features 14 tracks including recordings from their music concert.
