Back at GDC 2017, Capcom showed off a juicy in-house document called A strange Anatomy guide for artists: Fundamentals in sprite designing. This gem of how-to-draw-pixelart received a lot of positive vibe, and now the company is releasing it to the public via its Street Fighter V portal. Check it out from the link below.
Capcom explains that this guideline manual was probably written based on references from American illustrator William Andrew Loomis, with material added and taken out by Capcom artists to optimize it towards sprite drawing/pixel art.
We're assuming what's released in today's update is only a part of the guideline, but it already shows plenty of pointers written in the anatomy drawings to make sure the characters don't look odd when they're moving.
On a side note, the cover is hard to see but it's actually Demitri from the Darkstalkers series.
