Welcome to the MMCafe Lagfest thread, where everyone ends up after way too many cups of coffee.
SFV lagfests are randomly held on a sometimes-semi-monthly basis, usually on a weekend. It often involves lots of Abigail and Chunli for some reason. Colin seems to have been forgotten. Announcements on when they happen will sporadically appear on this thread and the SFV thread.
Feel free to also use this thread when you want to hold a lagfest on any fighting game title or to see if any members are interested in a spontaneous casual. When talking about a session, please don't forget to mention gaming platform and time zone.

I know it's kinda weird, but I'll go ahead and post here too just to say if anyone ever wants to play me in anything I have, just shoot me a line on PSN. I'm generally available weeknights Japan time, and sometimes weekends any time, if I'm not doing something unsavory here or there in the city.

There are new costumes and new characters to explore since the last time we met up so we are most certainly overdue. Will anyone have time in November? I know the holiday season is upon us but hopefully we can find a bit of time for a gathering.
The crossplay of SF5 makes it the best candidate for a lag festival but if folks are interested in other games please speak up. Whether it's something new like Samurai Shodown or a classic like, er, Samurai Shodown please speak up and maybe we can get some matches going. Heck, I like playing DoA6 so there's a potential player out there for everything.

While I've always been skeptical of the seperate lagfest threat (and you can bet I'll retreat right back to the SFV thread if it falls flat here!), let's at least try organizing it this way!
I can host a SFV lagfest on Nov. 23 (Sat) at 10:30am EST / November 24 (early Sun) 12:30am JST, and possssssibly Nov. 22 (Fri) at 11:00pm EST / Nov. 23 (Sat) 1:00pm JST.

I'll have to check with The Powers That Be but I maaaay be able to make it to the 23/24th play date. Sorry I can't handle the 22/23rd but I need my beauty sleep. If the 22/23rd works better for everyone else please don't wait for me; I'll enjoy the matches vicariously through screenshots.

Speaking of which, you can join the MMC dojo via the info in the top post in the SFV main thread. While it has no discernible effect on anything, we are still somehow in the top 15-40%!

While it's a shame to have unlocked the last boss while having to step away from the machine, I have to join Ishmael in taking a raincheck until December, but I'm good most days then...including weekdays in the evening EST/morning JST.

I don't think I'll be picking up GBVS right away so I'll sit this one out. However, I'll be interested in hearing impressions of the full game.
I'm definitely going to be waiting for the NA release because there's no report of the JP version containing full english menus/descriptions, but the NA release is a good month later.
