in the Fatal Fury series- Garou -Mark of
the Wolves- .
Storyline-
10 Years since the mysterious
death of Geese Howard, the King Of Fighters
tournament was thought to have concluded.
However, Terry Bogard recieved a letter of invitation from the
Butler of a family known as the Heinleins, to return to the tournament
as the defending champion since the last KOF. In Terry's invitation
letter, the Butler also invited Rock Howard -Terry's adopted child,
to join the tournament, as the head of the clan has something
to say in regards of Rock's mother.
Thus, Terry Bogard buys two tickets to their destination -SecondSouth.
Where the King Of Fighters -Maximum Mayhem- tournament will begin.

A 17 year old youngster who was adopted by Terry in Fatal Fury
3. Having his father ditch his ill mother, Rock carrys a hatred
to his father- Geese.
Terry Bogard < Image

The 35 year old Southtown Hero, Terry travels with Rock, trying
to lead the youngster nad make sure emotions do not take the best
of him.
Kim Dong-hwan < Image

The elder brother of the Kim family, age 20. While a slacking
joker who often skips Dojo lessons, Dong-hwan has a born talent
for fighting and battles with many techniques.
Kim Jae-hwan < Image

The younger brother of the Kim family, age 19. Very similar to
his father, Jae-hwan has serious personality and a heart of justice.
With strong effort, Jae-hwan has also inherited the ultimate attack
from his father- the Phoenix Combo.
Hotaru Souba < Image

A 16 year old girl in shearch for her lost father and brother,
who suddenly disappeared simultaneously to her mother's death.
Hearing that someone who resembles her brother is participating
in the tournament, Hotaru also joins in.
Marco Rodoriguez < Image

A 40 year old Kyokugen-ryu karate artist from the Brazil branch.
After his defeat by Ryo Sakazaki in the earlier days, Marco became
a student of Kyokugenryu and is now strong enough to be ranked
as second to top in the Dojo.
Hokutomaru < Image

A 14 year old boy who has studied the ways of the Shiranui since
his adolecence. Still being a curious youth, Hokutomaru decided
to see how much his ninjutsu can withstand in the city, and decided
to travel.
Kevin Ryan < Image

Having his friend assasinated by someone, Kevin wanted to get
revenge but had no clue to who the culprit was. However the son
of his friend knew, and thus Kevin rose.
Gato < Image

A 26 year old lone wolf who searches for the ultimate art to destroy
the man who led his mother to death.
Beauty Jenet < Image

A 19 year old girl who was married under a rich family. However,
all the richness did not fulfill her curiousity and Jenet created
her own group of justice pirates "Rielin Knights". Her
next target: the King Of Fightersand its prize money.
The Griffon < Image

A 27 year old legend who stood as a hero for the children. While
the Griffon lost against a mysterious man and lost all his courage,
he rose again to the voices of the children.
Freeman < Image

A 24 year old man who lived his life in the Slum. his only reason
of living being the experience of life and death situations, Freeman
could not resist the temptation to join the tournament when he
heard the world's feircest, evilest devil was to be fighting.
Grant < Middle Boss >
A big man wearing a mask. His attacks consists of power-based
moves.
Kain R. Heinlein <Last Boss

Geese's Brother in law. Kain uses the power of the dark side,
and in the back of his stage, there is a female statue which can
be assumed as an image of Rock's mother.
Systems
Unlike previous in the Fatal Fury series, Garou-Mark
of the Wolves has adapted into a very different system.
The trademark "Line system"
has been abandoned, and the game plays in one plane, likewize
to most other fighter games.
Similar to the King Of Fighter series
the buttons A, B, C, D corresponds to Weak Punch, Kick, Fierce
Punch, Kick. The dodge attack is still present, and can be executed
with AB. The start button is used for taunting.
Unlike in the recent series of
Fatal Fury, the life bar is not doubled- there is only one meter.
Handicaps have been reported to
take effect in the game when players get a winning streak against
human opponents.
Also, there has been reports
of a Survival mode present in Garou -Mark of the Wolves- by pressing
ABCD to start.

Instead of waiting for the character's life to build
low for supers, players can now chose when
to make the character go into the burst mode- during high
life, medium life, or low life.
While the burst takes place, the character can afflict
more damage, and execute a special move known as the TOP move. In
addition, the character's life slowly recovers during this TOP mode.
Just Defence
While the game now has a guard crush system, these
is also a move called Just Defence.
By guarding right when the enemy's attack is about to hit,a special
defence called Just Defence will be executed. When the Just defence
succeeds, the player can guard cancel,
the guard damage is ignored, and the
player's life makes a small recovery.
