Square has released additional information on their upcoming sequel,
Parasite Eve 2.
MIST
Since
the New York incident in PE1, Aya retired from her workplace in
New York from the fears of
her power harming her friends. Aya soon became a member of the
M.I.S.T , an operation team within the FBI which was created to
solve and eliminate NMC (Neo Mitochondria Creatures) which became
been present nationwide since their birth in New York, 3 years
ago due to Eve.
As the M.I.S.T is a secretive operation team not officially recognized
by the FBI, most workers within the FBI itself does not know of
their existance- likewize, Aya and the other MIST members investigate
cases under the disguise of a normal FBI investigator.
Aya is a member of the Los Angeles MIST team, which consists of
12 members. The chief Baldwin, firearms maintainer Jody, informant
Peirce, two chemists, and "hunters" who are responsible
for the actual NMC elimination- Aya, Rupert, and 7 others.
Communication between MIST membersare mostly done by the phone.
Unlike in PE1 where the phone was used only for saving games,
the phone can also be used for gaining new information and hints
to solving the game..
Members of the MIST
Erick Baldwin
The Cheif of the Los Angeles MIST team. As the head, Baldwin rarely
steps foot outsid eof the office, but collects information and gives
orders to members by phone. Due to his analytical butcold personality,
members call him "HAL" like the computer.
Rupert Patrick
A former FBI agent, Rupert was once a peaceful man. however Rupert's
personality changed when he lost his family to NMCs in the New York
incident. Although he now devotes his life strictly to the slaughtering
of NMCs, he also acts as a good advisor for Aya, and often helps
her out.
Peirce Carradine
A former hacker, Peirce's ability to collect information allows
him to collect vital data for the MIST, although some methods he
uses are illegal at times. While some members fear Aya for her supernatural
abilities, Peirce has no hesitation. While Peirce is mostly focused
in deskwork with his monitor, he will run to help in any dangerous
situation for Aya.
Jody Bouqet
Jody is in charge of firearms in MIST. Her knowledge in assembling
good weaponry has good popularity. However due to her unique style
of speaking and lack of common sense, she sometimes confuses others
aroudn her. Yet due to her sunny personality, she is trusted by
many of the hunters in MIST.
NMCs
While
the MIST is present to eliminate NMCs, the NMCs themselves have
also gone a dramatic change since PE1. In addition to NMCs which
seem artificially created, some NMCs have the ability to camoflauge
into human form. While this female may look as though she is
mutating into an NMC, she in fact was not a human to begin with-
the NMC was disguised.
Parasite Eve 2 is scheduled for release in 12/16, priced at
6800 Yen / 2 Disks.
