Japanese Journal Mainichi News has reported today that Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamauchi(74) will be retiring after the stockholder's meeting in June.
While Yamauchi comments that he had decided on retiring since 2 years ago to rejuvenate the company's head, numerous business issues have come in the way of his plan.
Although Yamauchi's new position taker has not been announced, it has been made clear that the company will now operate under a group of members, consisting of the new president and a number of executives since "It's not as though any one person can handle the Nintendo from now on".
Short Comment- As a report, this news is reliable. BUT. Yamauchi keeps saying that he'll retire and keeps canceling his plans... Personally, I wouldn' be surprised if he was still in his chair around Christmas time. - "Madman" H. Moriarty
